Webster's Millenium Encyclopedia Reviewer's Comments
If you don't want to invest a lot in encyclopedia software, Webster's Millennium Encyclopedia, at less than five bucks, is the least expensive program on the market. However, this is for a 2005 version.
Upon opening this product, Webster has various categories available, with just a click you'll go to that section of the program. The categories are somewhat broad, so finding the exact information you're looking for may take some time.
Webster's timeline, the "World Timeline," is very general and doesn't go into much detail about the specific events. We found the more specific timelines to be more helpful.
This product does not have a thesaurus, but it does have a dictionary of natural history to define terms from nature. The program states that it includes a world atlas, but we couldn't find it.
Webster has a converter integrated into the software. This feature can convert almost any measurements. The software package also includes a foreign phrases guide, star gazer, moon gazers, jigsaw puzzles and more.
This product has a search bar so you can find key words in articles. We tried to locate some specific facts and couldn't find them. When you perform a search, Webster pulls up everything that contains your key word including images, articles, video clips, sound clips and so on. It would be practical to be able to search just one category, so if you're looking for an image, you could just search the images.
If you're looking for inexpensive encyclopedia software, you won't find anything cheaper, but if you want a more comprehensive reference suite, refer to the gold and silver products.
